In past episodes, John has discussed attitudes for success. Today, he takes it a step further and talks about IVVM which stands for Idealization, Visualization, Verbalization, and Materialization.

IDEALIZATION

Idealization is very, very simple. Sit down and idealize what is your most ideal life. Shoot for the stars and at the very least your gonna hit the moon.

VISUALIZATION

Visualization is when you can invest ten minutes each morning, ten in the evening, with your eyes closed, visualizing everything you sat down and written around your idealizations. What you’ve dreamed about and thought about in your mind as if it’s already real.

VERBALIZATION

Make a list of twenty one what we call “I am” statements about yourself. Describe traits you want to build on or more specifically you’ll need to become the person you need to be in order to do the things you need to do to have and experience all that you dream of.

MATERIALIZATION

Choose every single day that all you dream will be yours. And when you believe it, you’ll see it. A great saying was “What the mind can conceive and believe, it will achieve”. Now that’s exactly the same as all the things with the materialization, but you’ve gotta believe, you’ve gotta verbalize, you gotta visualize, you gotta idealize exactly what you want.

Hi this is John Millar. I’m the Naked Business Coach, stripping business back to the bare basics. One of the other podcasts, we spoke about Be-Do-Have which is all about attitude. Today, I’d like to take it one step further and talk about attitude and talk about what we call IVVM. So IVVM stands for Idealization-Visualization-Verbalization-Materialization.

Now idealization is very, very simple. It’s part of what we actually do in creating a dream builder. Make sure that you sit down and idealize what is your most ideal life. Shoot for the stars and at the very least your gonna hit the moon. Idealize exactly where you’d like to be and what you’d like to do. Because once you’ve done that, you can move on to V for visualization, which is when you can invest ten minutes each morning, ten in the evening, with your eyes closed, visualizing everything you sat down and written around your idealizations. What you’ve dreamed about and thought about in your mind as if it’s already real.

Lay a big pile of magazines or look at anything that you can find that you can cut up and actually then cut out the words and pictures and events and places that form your dreams and create a large collage of your dreams and that’s what we call a dream chart. And that will help you to better visualize where you wanna go.

The third step is V for verbalization. So make a list of twenty one what we call “I am” statements about yourself. Now these are where you get to describe traits you want to build on or more specifically you’ll need to become the person you need to be in order to do the things you need to do to have and experience all that you dream of. You state these things aloud every single day, at least twice a day with as much passion, volume and desire as you possibly can.

The other thing you can do with your verbalization is to share it with other people who are close to you and more importantly to your unreasonable friend. Somebody that you know that if you tell them you’re gonna do something, they’ll call you out on it if you don’t get off your backside and do it.

And step number 4 is materialization. Choose every single day that all you dream will be yours. And when you believe it, you’ll see it. A great saying was “What the mind can conceive and believe, it will achieve”. Now that’s exactly the same as all the things with the materialization, but you’ve gotta believe, you’ve gotta verbalize, you gotta visualize, you gotta idealize exactly what you want. And the reality is it makes it much simpler.

Now I could believe all I like that a million dollar check is gonna arrive inside the mail, but its probably not going to happen unless I do something that’s going to potentially stimulate that sort of outcome. So I’m not talking about that sort of airy-fairy nonsense. But I do want you to start in your business to develop a dream and to build that dream together by idealization, visualization, verbalization and then drive every day to make it materialize.
